Getting a great education opens up so many opportunities for people - it is transformative for individuals and their families. 

Students in our local schools deserve the best education they can possibly get, and governments should always pursue this goal. 

To improve our local schools an TAFE system, the Minns Labor Government and I are:

• Establishing new fee-free public preschools at Berkeley West, Cringila, Lake Heights and Hayes Park public schools,
• Investing in upgrades and repairs to local schools,
• Banning mobile phones in schools,
• Boosting the teaching workforce by providing better pay and conditions so more teachers stay in the classroom, and
• Establishing the Illawarra Heavy Manufacturing Centre of Excellence at Wollongong TAFE.
