Over the past seven years, the book drive has put thousands of books into the hands of young students across the Wollongong electorate, helping them build literacy skills, boost confidence, and foster a life-long love of reading.
This year’s drive will again collect new and good-quality used books, or book vouchers, for Kindergarten, Year 1, and Year 2 students. Additional donations will also go to SAHSSI to support families fleeing domestic violence.
Donations can be made until Friday, 14 November 2025, at Mr Scully’s office, located at G2, 51 Crown Street, Wollongong, with alternative arrangements available by contacting his office.
Member for Wollongong, Paul Scully said:
“There’s nothing like the excitement and smiles on kids’ faces when they receive a book.
“Over the last few years, the Kids Book Drive has helped get thousands of books into the hands of children to keep, read and re-read.
“Reading is one of the most important skills a child can learn — it opens doors to a world of imagination, learning, and opportunity.
“I am asking for our community to dig deep again this year to support my annual book drive and give generously to local kids who might be doing it tough this Christmas.
“I hope that once again this year we can increase the number of books that are donated to local kids who are eager to boost their reading skills and hungry for new stories”
