Illawarra Labor MPs are united in our condemnation of the speech made in the Australian Senate by Queensland Senator Fraser Anning.

The Illawarra region is a leading example of people from all corners of the globe who have come together to live in a united, vibrant and welcoming community.

We celebrate this diversity and value people based on their contribution to our community.  The Illawarra community welcomes people of all cultures and religions.  We don’t exclude people based on the colour of their skin or their religious beliefs.

The Senator’s speech is racist and factually wrong. There is no place for these inflammatory views in our Parliaments, our community, or our country.
